Neem seeds are very rich in fatty acids, which make up 40% of their weight, and contain more than 100 types of terpenoids. Limonoids (triterpenes) are the most important, used for their antifungal, bactericidal, and antimalarial activity, as well as for insect control. Among the most important of these are azadirachtin, melantriol, nimbin, and salannin.
