These formulations attempt to provide the best possible nutrient base for a specific group taking into account the dietary needs of each. A multinutrient formula is often the mainstay of a supplementation program.
StrongStart MVM is a food supplement in the form of a one-a-day multinutrient formula, developed by the LAMBERTS Technical Department, for women who want to conceive, who are pregnant or lactating. Taking it daily provides the 400 μg of folic acid recommended by the UK Department of Health, plus optimal levels of others along with optimal levels of the 23 other vitamins and minerals needed at this important time.
Several B vitamins are also at risk of falling below the NRVs for (which are certainly well below optimal levels). The only official recognition of these possible deficiencies is the focus given by the Department of Health on folic acid. Clearly if folic acid supplementation is required then it seems likely that other B vitamins are at risk.
